Sooooo... the Director's Cut of Nymphomaniac looks to be pretty hardcore w/ DP, oral creampies, etc. I might have to actually watch this movie.

Is that really Charlotte Gainsbourg getting DP'd, or a body double?

 

The sex is all with body doubles. Seems very pointless to add more. A proper directors cut would do away with the doubles and have the actors perform.

Yeah, I don't understand the thinking. If you are having your face superimposed on a body doing some hardcore, why is that so different than doing the scene yourself? Other than performance issues I'm guessing.

 

I have my doubts about some of the double claims.
It is very complicated and nearly impossible (and very expensive) to add the face of an actor to some of those scenes in that trailer.
I would say that some of the claims from the actors are to make people believe that they didn't do some of the acts they did.

When the directors cut comes on Blu-ray it should be possible to do a CSI examination on some of those claims.................

 

Legal reasons. SAG and other unions don't allow actors to perform real sex acts. Also, they just might not want to have real sex with a stranger.

 

I think I'll be checking this out when it's released. I'll be watching for the great... ya know..dialogue.. of course.

 

They don't mind the casting couch though.

erm, in europe actors can perform real sex acts all they like. this is a european production. And there are plenty of movies where the actors have real sex and even on stage.

EDIT: Just to be clear i'm not claiming that the scenes in this particular movie are not done with doubles i know they are.

Based on the above photos, are we supposed to have our Celebrity section behavior in force or our 'rest of Phun' behavior? Tricky.

It's not complicated or expensive to do this anymore. Software has improved, and what was nearly impossible five years ago can now be done by a few CGI artists.

You can imagine that actors are deeply depraved people, but I doubt that anybody in the cast would accept to film some hardcore acts, such as DP or interracial, just for a XXX cut that will be released months after the standard cut of the film, and will be just seen by a fraction of the audience.
We're talking about stuff that even a porn star doesn't do until well into her career, and suddenly we'd get established mainstream actors who are happy to oblige for their first hardcore scene for a direct to video version? That would be very far-fetched...

The director used porn actors and body doubles intercut with the regular cast in another film. He had very explicit content in another one, but he also used doubles for a few shots. So, we can only assume that they actually did what they explained in various interviews, that their scenes were simulated with the top of their bodies superposed to porn actors having sex.
