    Just discovered today that the "Ice Bucket Challenge" is a gonzo ploy to get donations for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). As long as it includes hot chicks in bikinis then I'm all for it. :applause:

    Oh please, it's the equivalent of "I double dog dare you." If you don't want to do it, you lose a little face, that's it. No one is going to sue anyone (or kill them) for not taking the dare, just like ignoring a dare on the schoolyard didn't result in kids getting taken to court.

    "The challenge required nominated participants to have a bucket of ice water poured on their head. One common stipulation gives 24 hours from the time they are nominated to complete the dare. The participant is expected to donate $10 if they have poured the ice water over their head and donate $100 if they have not."

    You know, I'm missing the part where it's a legally binding contract. Again, it's basically a case of "I dare you..." If you don't want to do it, don't do it. Even if you don't want to fork over the cash, they're not going to send thugs to your door threatening to break your ankles if you don't pay. Plus, even if you say you donated and didn't, is anyone going to call you on it and say you didn't?

    Nowhere in my posts did I ever say "legally binding" - that appears to be a position you are adhering to. It becomes a socially binding contract where shame or financial payoff are the only two results. This wouldn't matter to us anonymous types but if you're a public figure then it would matter. Can we drop this now?
