Why don't actresses pose nude or don't do nude scenes anymore?

Yeah, they still do. Scarlett Johansson. Emmy Rossum. Alexandra Daddario. Shiri Appleby. Sarah Silverman. Of course there are some girls like Jennifer Love Hewitt that refuse to do nude scenes. But you know the old saying. You can't win them all.

 

The 70s and 80s were pretty big for nudity. Then aids and the 90s happened which a huge step back for sexuality in this country. But we've been steadily climbing since. Playboy is considered a has been by most modern celebrities and does not carry anything like the prestige it once did. Most celebs who do appear in it do so out of desperation. These days America is a bout as openly sexual, and accepting as it's ever been. Which, I know, is not saying much. But to answer your question more celebrities are giving up more skin than just about ever. So I don't really get what it is you are actually asking.

 

Ultimately guys you know this is going to lead to his real question. Why doesn't anybody do his beloved playboy anymore.

As another poster has already said, there is more nudity in mags and movies these days than back in the celeb nude heyday of the seventies...!!!!

The premise for this thread is incorrect there are plenty of nude scenes being shot.


As for Playboy I think that there is a realization that it's best days are behind it. The internet is killing magazines anyway but even before that Playboy had become less and less the "classy" way to pose nude. There is too much competition and Playboy's demographic just doesn't see it as young and hip anymore. Playboy used to set the trends but after having a Pam Anderson shoot twice a year and then the horrible mistake of "The Girls Next Door" show (never ever let the audience see behind the curtain) the magic was gone. There was a time when the mainstream media covered who was PMOY, now I have no idea who it is. The Playmates would be photographed at Red Carpet stuff, not anymore. Playboy rarely if ever had "A" list celebs pose nude anyway. They got LiLo because she was broke, and then they did yet another "Imitation Marilyn" shoot. They need better photographers and more imaginative shoots, that "girl Next door" thing is only true if you live next to a plastic surgeon's office. There was a time when every young photographer wanted to be Pompeo Posar, PB's lead photographer, now I don't even know who their #1 guy is. Playboy always retouched but now they seem to think that anything can be fixed in PhotoShop and guess what, it can't. It's sad because I can remember the first Playboy I bought, who was the Playmate, I used to really look forward to the Holiday issues but no longer. Maybe it's just that Playboy aged along with us. I don't think that I have bought a Playboy this century.

 

I like the girls, but the photogs are stale and so are the shoots, plus they airbrush the fuck out of every image.
