Over population is the root of the problem, not greed. The physical planet can only support a given number of people before the planet will no longer resemble the place that we would like it to be. Until you reverse the population explosion, nothing you can do about the decline of the planet. Efforts can be made to slow the decline, but the decline will not be stopped until the number of people is controlled. And you know, that will never happen unless there is a major worldwide calamity of some sort.

There is probably no way to really point out and say "that is to blame", but there are a few things that stand out.

    1. Capitalism : This is fairly obvious.

    2. Diversity/nationalism/cultural identity/religions identity : Yes, I know these things are supposed to be important to respect how diverse everybody is, but honestly this is what leads to 90% of the worlds problems. We don't view ourselves as just Humans, we view ourselves as "Americans" or "Canadians" or "Asian" or "Muslim" and so on, and only end up being bothered about what happens within these boundaries.

Why should you care if there are caterns in Mexico.....because that will lead to drugs on your streets.

Why should you care about the Shia vs. Snnie crap.......because that will eventually lead to attacks near you.

Why should you care about overpopulation in India and China......because all those people are going to immigrate to your country and take your jobs.

The world is 1 place, and we keep acting like it isn't, we keep thinking that if some far away country has a problem, or is being run by a physo dictator, that it doesn't affect us, but it will, eventually.

Overpopulation is the biggest threat, but again it comes down to what I said.

The major cause for the population growth is uneducation, if you could educate the masses they would not have 5+ kids. The biggest trouble makers in this respect are India and China, both of who' Governments are fucked (in different ways), and yet nobody else will really stand up and say "Hey, you're doing it wrong". No they just pussy foot around with being politically correct and then complain when hoards of immigrants come to their shores.

I know you are a huge proponent for education. I dont disagree with it being important. Still, I live in the states, which I assume would be considered educated, and we act like a bunch of ignorant assholes too. Greed is the answer for me. The thirst for money and power is our core driving force as a species.

Interesting that the 3 questions were about "your streets", "near you", and "your country" and "your jobs".

I could easily say it's all about what pertains to or affects me as an individual vs. all the global thinking. We could prolly go back and forth for quite a while and never make a determination that would suit all for the very same reason posted in response to my original question.

Education doesn't solve everything, but it's a huge step forward compared to what there is here.

Also public education in the US isn't really that great anyway.

When I said "your" I didn't literally mean your, I was just saying it in a general sense. It applies to everybody and every country.
