    Yeah, no, he's right, she was diagnosed as bipolar. Sure, she may have been using drugs too, but most of the weirdness stems from untreated mental issues.

    People with mania often self-medicate with drug use, or just indulge in drug use because they are already so high from mania. One can bring on the other. She would be medicated for mania and then sent to rehab for the drug use, or vice versa.
