Since you're capping bouncing Leia anyway, right after the compacter scene she is storming along a hallway and says "can somebody get this walking carpet out of my way?", she is bouncing around like 2 cats in a sack, you know the scene I'm talking about? Please?

 

Often 'many' of us use video/you tube/DVD/movies/Blu-ray and other sites clips as a source,
yet we make personalised gifs from these.

 

Are you saying you still use VHS?

 

I am saying we move forward, not backward or stay with legacy software, especially making longer clips with greatly compressed size, and quicker

I know, but some may question how we get these longer clips in a short time-span, and gfycat converts the gif to a vid format initially for a much clarified clip,
where you can still download as a gif at a click if required.
What does someone want? A 3 second gif clip, which is great sure. Or also, a 20 second clip downloaded fast of a long clip with more clarity. Your choice, or both.
I choose both.

 

Indeed, I think it's great. The only reason people started using animated gifs as video clips in the first place was that you could post them anywhere, whereas HTML5 video didn't even exist.

There's a long way to go to replace gifs though, which are a standard. Gfycat is only one service which could close shop or start to suck just like all image hosts sometimes do. More hosts need to follow. And, the embedding part (getting a video to play directly on the page) is still tough in most comment systems.

Anyway, back to the gifs

I am assuming that is a joke lol. If not...

A long time ago I suggested we add the source of the person and/or event in the title above the Gifs we made.
I realised a few read "source" differently to my intended meaning of the word. My bad.

This was not meant to be a link to, or the "source" as in "youtube link", or the "URL link", or the "link to another sites videos", for example.

When I said "source" back then, and I did clarify how I had meant it - it was the Name of the Celeb and if possible, the Event (or Movie or TV show) added above the Gif in text.
(Similar to how we post a title in "Celebrity Photos" forum)

It was then decided it was up to the poster of said Gif to decide whether to add the text or not.
If they hadn't added the name etc above the Gif and was asked by another member, then it is up to the poster of the Gif to decide if he or she will tell them or add it.

A few took the piss and listed all information right down to the screen resolution and name of the site owner etc. Ha Ha. But stupid.

So to be ever clearer and make it clear to some here - Forget the word "source" and if you need to ask for the name and/or event, etc, ask for it. End of story.
