Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     Yeah, SSDs use basically the same technology as a stick of RAM or a flash/thumb drive (as opposed to spinning platter).

    That sounds like its the optical drive? Either way, was that something you were able to open up and do yourself?

    No. I took it to the Apple Store.

    EDIT: I've installed RAM in other computers, but I don't trust myself to install a hard drive.

    Yeah, I personally wouldn't even try it with mine and I've built every other desktop I've owned. Once you get in there it's very easy, but taking the screen apart to get in there is another story. That's the downside of such a compact all-in-one design. Didn't know if yours had better access though.

    It looks plenty of people have put SSDs in those models or close to it:



    But, given the price of SSDs, hard to say if it's worth it to you. I'd definitely spend $30 on RAM though.

    If I get an extra $30 I'll install some RAM. That's a little less expensive than I thought.

    Yep, that's what I thought, too. I could max mine out for about $400 or just fill the other two slots for $100. But, I haven't really needed it yet.

    Anyway, since it's pushing past 5am I better get some sleep, too. Later :)
