    without the exact model, I'm guessing that there are a screw at the side of the battery that have a clamp that kold the battery, or a strut ontop with screws/nuts on both sides, or a quickrelease on one side of the battery that work just like the clamp, just without a screw

    It appears to me to be bolted to a bottom frame which in turn is bolted down to something.....I can only see one bolt that may be a part of this assembly. The tow to the dealership will cost me nothing, so that is the way I am going to go. I get very frustrated working on relatively new cars now. So.....fuck it.

    It was. I guess I will try it again. I keep forgetting just how helpful the internet can be. The one vertical bolt I saw that I suspected was associated with the hold down system for the battery turns out to be the only bolt ..... and not just the first of a series of hold down bolts. Should be fairly easy to get out. Thanks, Cold.

    there are very seldom many bolts attaching the battery as it's meant to be exchanged from time to time

    I had forgotten just how heavy auto batteries are. :shock: After seeing how to do it, it was easy. So now I will just take it via my bike to AutoZone tomorrow to get a replacement.....then install and hope that solves the problem.
