    don't have much opinion other than if I was a coach I'd would prefer to get to a top college job and settle in. Maybe no one came calling in college because of all that was said about him ... or maybe he realized that coaching in college, recruiting and dealing with boosters, alum, administration etc didn't suit him?

    He's going to be an assistant, right? So he'll get decent pay - but he's not getting rich.

    Getting fired from USCal was expected; however, Saban hiring him was a complete shock.....Kiffin has proven to be nothing but disaster for the past 6 years. This may be the downfall of Saban.

    At Tenn., Kiffin appeared to suffer from a swollen ego which he carried to USCal...inside info is that you could not tell him anythings as he knows it all....AND, his attitude alienated many of the players. Maybe he has learned he is not as good as he thought he was. As for why he would accept the position with Alabama, well, a few 100K a year is better than zero.
