    :lol: I think it should be the top 8 teams. The way to sell it would be to keep most of the bowls due to their $ impacts and just have the three rounds of championship play offs.

    The "4" is confusing me as if there is an 8-team playoff, there is a total of 7 games and 3 games with a 4-team playoff. Personally, I would not use "a bowl game" until the last or championship game. The earlier elimination games would not be bowl games. If that is not acceptable, then I guess there would have to be a lottery and some bowl games would have to schedule earlier than what they are accustom to.

    I understand your reasoning, but on the face of it it would appear that any playoff games would immediately have more importance than any bowl games ... no doubt the top bowl games would want to secure a playoff game with the championship being the ultimate prize for both the teams and the bowl organizers!
