  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

I remember watching the guy do his thing - open up his case of tubes. no idea what age, but it was when I was a little kid.

I don't remember if he came more than once, but I do remember him saying the vertical hold was shot and he couldn't fix it by putting in a new tube. :(

I agree. My next computer is going to be a desktop so I can get a bigass screen.

I don't remember home TV service much after the early 1960's. Once we got TV Cable, and the sets were not quite as large and heavy, we took our TV into the TV repair store. They may have still offered home service, but my Dad did not want to pay for the service call.

All of ours used to be 16" to 21" until a few years ago......except our family room set which was a 25". Once the HD started coming out, the old TVs got real cheap.

my smallest TV "viewer" is my 7 inch Nexus Android tablet. Nice HD picture though. my cable company has an app that allows me to watch when connected to the wireless network in my house.

wait a minute my phone is even smaller and can view TV in the same fashion ...

does anyone get weather/safety alerts on their phone ... at first I thought it was useful ... but there are quite a few alerts and warnings ... tends to make me ignore them.

It used to be that the weatherman would forecast that it would rain hard. Now I get an alert warning that there is a "possibility of flooding in low lying areas". LOL
