    No. It is actually called a lanai I think.....the lower story roof extends over a concrete slab. We want to extend the slab 6 feet and cover it with 2" thick paver bricks. Wife is nagging to finish the concrete plans, specifications, and details with grades.

    Much of the year it is just too hot or too cool to enjoy. Insects are generally not a problem as we have fans to keep them away. I do have to monthly do a guinney wasp nest inspection though...:lol:

    Originally it was the full length of the north side of the house....but I closed in a western portion to have space for yard equipment and fuel storage. The builder called it a lanai.....I call it a porch..:dunno:

    I know I am spelling quenney wasp wrong, but they are midget wasps that a sting that packs a wallop! Kinda fiesty little fuckers too! Have to find them in the daytime, note the nest location, then spray them at night when they are all on the nest. The nests are also rather small....only about an inch in diameter. (2.5 cm)
