    Howdy folks :hi:

    See ya One :bye:

The Sonora is relatively mild compared to the rest of the state, which sees plenty of snow and inclement weather during the winter months. Folks in Phoenix and to the south and southwest have it pretty good. As a native Midwesterner I recommend you wear wool socks on the chillier nights. ;)

My grandparents have a place in flagstaff, so I used to go up there all the time during the summer & occasionally during the winter. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt when there was snow up there, and I didn't feel the least bit cold. Although I did get chilly once I actually touched the snow. I have also visited family in Salt Lake City, and wasn't cold there. My upper body does get cold sometimes, but my legs never get cold. I wonder why? The only thing I've come up with is that it might have something to do with blood circulation.

    Hey buddy! :beerchug:

I don't know, you'll have to google it. I don't follow the local teams.
    Flagstaff is beautiful...

Dry air helps. Cold moist air is more penetrating. I've know a number of desert dwellers who wear shorts all winter long when going out and about. I have no problem with it either. I wouldn't do it in Chicago though.

Big Blue is Kentucky (They even have it trademarked). Michigan is just Blue. ;)

Have you ever been to Sedona?

    That's crazy!
My sister and I drove up to the Grand Canyon at the end of July. We stopped in Jerome, then went north through Sedona on our way to Flag, where we got rooms for three nights. I took some pics of Sedona as we drove through.

Unfortunately the memory card on my camera got corrupted somehow so I lost a whole day's worth of images, except for a few I managed to recover. Most of the Sedona pics were lost. Gonna have to drive back up there before I leave the state.
    Catch ya later Thore.

Bummer. I love Sedona. I'm pretty good with a camera, but in Sedona you can get good pics even if you suck with a camera. I liked going to Slide Rock when I was a kid. Even though I've personally driven there, the driving can be nauseating if you don't like heights. I remember riding in my grandma's old jeep, sometimes it feels like one small mistake would put you off the edge of a cliff.

I don't like to drive at high altitude. With cliffs and stuff.

    Sedona is very photogenic.

I've driven several roads like that in the Rockies, and in some cases the term "road" is overstating it. Hwy 666 over Red Mountain Pass in southwest Colorado (between Ouray and Silverton) is always a thrill. Very narrow and at some points the drop over the edge while driving southbound is 100s of feet. It gets very interesting when semi trucks are coming from the opposite direction.

I made several posts of my Grand Canyon visit starting here if you're interested: http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=269750&page=93&p=7378076&viewfull=1#post7378076
