this line seems to be a not so subtle way of telling me they can say what they want but I cant speak my mind about their derogatory comments


now perhaps that wasn't your intention and if so I apologize but I'm used to dealing with people that put a lot of nuiance into every word and and phrase they speak so occasionaly I read too much into what people say

 

Hey lspiderl, I feel bad about what has happened here. You're a fellow Phunner and I consider you a friend. My original comment was just a gentle jab in the ribs, so to speak.

The thing is though, nobody here should go out of their way to take umbrage with the comments that other people make here about celebrities that are posted here at the Phun forum. And there are two reasons for that - one, being that the celebrity has not personally authorized you or any one of us to speak on their behalf - and two, we don't know the celebrity personally and we can't decide in their stead what they wish for us to think because maybe what they do is related directly to what they want us to believe. We have to give them credit that they are thinking and feeling human beings themselves and they may know exactly what they are doing and may have even planned for or calculated the response that their actions may result. :2cent:

you did a good job of endlessly bashing and trashing Lady GaGa in another thread....

 

Inherently we are all hypocrites, and also... No one here can speak for a celeb.

So what we have left is our opinions and reactions, and more often than not if one looks back, one will see how hypocritical they actually are.

I talked about her musical talent not her personaly and I didn't trash her I simply gave a negative critisim about her musical ability in a comparison debate about another artist
that's a far cry from the constant comments from certain people referring to various celebs as whores and sluts and talking about grotesque sexualy things they want to see inflicted on them
two very different things

I dont and wont, im glad you posted on this in fact . it wasn't so much your comment alone it was endless comments about this celeb and others recently that have gotten overwhelmingly disturbing and disgusting while yours was rather tame compared to most you can see people start going further and further with these types of comments . I believe these women should be given a bit more respect than they are shown here by certain forums members . We can all appreciate them and their bodies without resorting to graphic and grotesque comments and attacks about what sexual debauchery they want to commit or see commited upon whatever hapless celeb they decide to heap it upon

in the Past comments like whats become overly common practice lately were occasional now they are in nearly every thread and getting more and more graphic each day each thread each post and I will never apologize for fighting for a higher standard of behavior from members. We all make off color jokes and remarks from time to time but when every thread about certain celebs is nothing but a trashfest it becomes a serious degradation to the forums community as a whole

and if you could accualy read my statement I addressed her gimmick makeup NOT her as a person , I didn't call her a whore or a slut or any such thing I called her gimmick makeup out for what it was a horrible attempt to get attention by looking like a trashy version of cruella diville and even that was in response to someone elses failed attempt to say she can perform without a gimmick. She is accualy beautiful when she doesn't have all that garbage bizzaro attention getting costumes on
its not my fault you cant separate the person from the makeup because I can address one without attacking the other

 

Her look is part of her persona. Rationalize it all you like, but you can't trash one aspect of an individual without having trashed them in a general sense. And before you decide to argue the fact, don't bother. History has shown that on this forum, a slight is a slight no matter how you qualify it. It's not an argument you will ever win. Ever. You need to learn to cut your losses man, and in the future pursue your arguments more wisely. And it wouldn't hurt to keep track of things you've said in the past. There are people on this forum with an uncanny knack of digging up previous comments you make and using them to vilify you. I've been subject to it a time or two myself. Good luck with that.

which all goes back to the statement from me he is trying to misconstrue because I made that statement in response to someone posting that vid of her as proof she could perform without all the gimmicks and I made me statement to clearly pointout that even in that simplified performance she was still using her gimmicks
and your right it has nothing to do with jennette or the discusions in this thread but he tried to use an out of context statement against me to win an argument here and im justified in shooting down his argument by clarifying the context of the post he is dredging up to show his point here is invalid
and on the other thing you mentioned yes you can address the gimmick and not the artist Brian warner is a brilliant and intelligent and polite man ( ive met him in person and even moshed with him at a show) however his gimmick marylon manson is a douche, but its all a fake persona I don care for his gimmick but I like him personaly he isn't the same person when he is in makeup and charicter
