    No they arent. This is not a democracy or a court of law. The mods here are made up of a group of our peers, all with differing opinions and stances, that discuss and act according to popular notion. At least thats the way I see it. Also, passing judgement on him based on his current actions does not mean he could not do the job asked of him as a mod. Could you imagine trying to fill authoratative positions woth only impartial people? There would be many, many empty slots in my opinion.

    It's the opposite. This place has rules and to say that those rules are secondary to the impulses and wants of a group of its members who are open to the exact same attitudes behaviours and a prejudices of the rest of us at will is naive. Mods should be impartial. Not people whos whims and wants should dictate what their actions are.

    You are correct. I guess I was referencing more the way each mod interprets the rules and chooses to act upon such. Still, as you have said, this place has rules that must be upheld as a mod. That would be applicable no matter how camp he may be. The only time camp would come into play is regarding his interpretation of said rules and how he chooses to act upon them. However, he would stillbe bound by the rules, wouldnt he?

    I'm sorry you dislike the CX forum so much, Jamms, but I'm surprised and disappointed by your implications of skulduggery by us Mods! Whether you like features of phun.org is largely a matter of taste, but you must have a pretty low opinion of us if you think there was some deviousness involved in our creation of Celebrity Extra!

    I think it was I who raised the issue in the Mod Forum that there was a growing number of celebrity-related mega-threads in the GF (as was), that were only there because celebrity forum rules rejected them, so I suggested that we ought to come up with some arrangement to permit the threads to take their natural place under the Celebrity umbrella. The ultimate result of the subsequent Mod Forum discussions was the Celebrity Extra forum, aimed primarily at giving this sort of orphaned thread a proper home, but also at receiving social media material the presence of which in the CP had proved contentious, and providing potential for future general celeb chat, gossip, etc. I'm not aware of any aspect of that reasoning or justification being withheld or obfuscated, and if it wasn't completely clear it was certainly not for want of us trying.

    Now you may dislike the outcome, but I reject totally your implication that there was something sneaky, underhand and dishonest about it's creation!

    After many threads and discussions and hearing both sides of the debate, my stance has changed a bit. I would be willing to accept a 16/18 ruling, if, the rule regarding sexual comments or suggestive comments read 18 rather than 16.
