~ Cool Sigs Redux ~ (for babe/chick sigs)

finally put sometime in to trying one of these frozen gifs where only part of the image moves. bit of fiddling round in after effects but works quite well



550x160, 256 colours and 25fps, but only 17 frames so came in at a respectable 386kb

Great stuff Lukin. I tend to attempt those sort of sigs in Photoshop, although you can't implement text as well in it. I'll get a still frame and overlay the animation with it and then use an eraser or layer mask to expose the bit I want to move. I find the most difficult thing is getting a good bit of video as my source. It needs to be high quality and with only subtle movement or it can end up looking a mess.

Speaking of gifs. I've been trying to rework this one below so it looks a bit smoother. Perhaps someone else could have a go. The trouble is that the original has around 50 frames and is only just inside the phun size specs, so reversing it and stuff doesn't really work because it becomes too large. I tried culling some frames and reversing it but it just looks a bit odd. Perhaps a decent transition at the end could be added or something, which I don't really have the tools for (I don't currently have After Effects). Also there should really be a little shadow cast on the A. Just thought I'd throw it out there if anyone's interested. It's one of those nearly sigs right now.

shadow across the A should be fairly easy. The rest I'm just about the worst animator/video editor on the planet. I swear sometimes I couldnt manage to run a batch program that linked 4 frames.

 

Yeah, can do the shadow myself, it's just that transition really.

Ok, it's really an odd sig, if you dont like it no worries. It's definitely different. The background layers are completely scratch done.
