The issue I have is most of my posts are Instagram/Twitter. If they weren't, I wouldn't have nearly as big an issue with this as I do. This forum is so dead compared to Celebrity Photos, and a lot of the members who enjoyed my posts in Celebrity Photos aren't interested in using this forum, so my threads suffer as a result.

With Instagram/Twitter being here, the majority of my threads will get little-to-no attention, and honestly, without the thanks, attention, and feedback from the members who usually enjoy my posts, there's really no intensive anymore to continuing posting so many Instagram/Twitter threads. But, in the end, I guess that's what the MODs wanted...

Anyway, it's obvious nothing's going to change right now, despite my best efforts, so I'll stop complaining and fighting for Instagram/Twitter to be moved back to Celebrity Photos... for now...

This thread started all of two days ago. Give it a chance. But I am disappointed to hear that you're just doing it for the thanks. That's pretty lame, but whatever. It's your prerogative. Just seems needy to me. You have friends in real life. Isn't that enough?

Thanks are a part of it. Everyone likes to get recognition for their contributions. But it's also the lack of attention and comments/feedback. People are going to miss out on some really good pictures because they're being posted here and not in the Celebrity Photos forum. But you're right. It is a new forum. Maybe it'll pick up and get better. But I'm very skeptical it will so far.

I have tried to support the new Forum and be active in its start.

I find so far some support from a few members, but a lot of hijacking and some trying to be too competative and/or destructive.

I come here to have fun and try to make fun threads and be active in others. I am finding it more stress and kicks in the face, than fun.

I might sit back a while and take hiatus.

If this is in regards to my starting a "FMK" thread, trust me I meant no harm. I just thought it would have been a fun game to play. No need to get bent out of shape and quit over it.

  10. I can't help thinking that a large part of the staff's agenda and perhaps even the primary objective of this new section is to de-emphasize and de-popularize content they'd ultimately rather not see posted at all. On one hand, when social media pics were part of the main stream so to speak, threads would often get more views and more thanks than threads chock-full of HQ pics. Conversely one could argue that if the content was so desirable, people would have no aversion to an extra mouse click to view said content. My contention in the context of how much attention certain content gets, is that it's not solely the content, but the experience itself of viewing all the content. Before the new section was created, there was cohesion, which I believe lent itself to this content getting the maximum amount of attention. Along with the new section came disparity that affected the amount of attention certain content gets, not based on the content itself, but based on the experience of viewing all the content. People that come to phun for porn rarely, if ever go in the celeb section. The reverse can be said for those who come here for the celebs. In this case separate sections is logical because the content is completely different. The bottom line as I see it is that social media pics are merely a gradient. Whether it's HQs, tagged pics from just jared or lq squares from twitter or instagram, they're all gradients of like content and as such should remain together.

Nonsense. If we didn't want to see certain content posted we'd simply place a prohibition on it. The notion that staff is intentionally trying to make life difficult for certain members and not others is both an insult and patently untrue.

  12. Rather than argue that point, I'll simply reiterate my perspective regarding the experience of viewing all the content. The cohesion I spoke of is an element that set phun apart from other forums and was a big part of why social media threads received more attention than one might expect given the amount of HQ content that can be found here. Phun generates revenue with ads. In this day and age the success of an ad to sell a product has less to do with product quality and the pitch and is largely based on consistent and/or persistent placement. The more time I spend here, the more time I'm subjected to these ads which is of course favorable to the advertisers. I would wager that at the very least, it is greater than 50% of phunners that enter and subsequently stay put inside a single section on any given visit. Those that come for the celebs are likely mostly content to look at the standard fare pap pics, pics taken at events, scans and photoshoots. Social media pics on their own as is the case media wise in this new section, are probably the least popular option. When they co-exist with the other content however, the end result is that they get more attention which means the member spends more time on the board in general. Divide the content and any given member may ignore what I'll call secondary content and leave once they get their fill of everything else. Keeping the content together encourages prolonged visits even if the social media pics are seen as secondary or filler. The ads generate revenue, the ads get more attention by default the longer a member is on the board and the advertisers will surely notice if their is a change in the bottom line one way or the other.

Argue what? Are you saying you know otherwise? Are you suggesting staff has a hidden agenda?

What about all the members who use adblock and don't see the ads at all?

  14. I considered that. I would still think that the desire would be for members to stay awhile. If for no other reason than to maintain a lively board where there is a hub rather than the disparity I spoke of. I won't assume the powers that be don't give 2 about any of that, but deconstructing a streamlined and cohesive experience seems counter intuitive.

A lot of people were dead set against the Creative Backyard when it was created. You're welcome to go ask any of it's regular contributors and visitors if they would like to see it reintegrated back into the General Forum. My guess is you'd be met with a resounding "No."

  16. The difference is it's not like content. Again I'll reiterate a point I already made that bears repeating. Social media pics are a gradient of like content. In simplest terms someone is holding a camera and pointing it at a celebrity. Often social media pics are pics taken at events, the same events the paps are at. The HQs are great to look at to scrutinize every inch of the female form, but almost always lack something the social media pics have. Personality. In the pap pics we see painted on smiles, a wink, a blown kiss and the standard leg kicked up to the rear while blowing the kiss. No real personality because they almost have all that rehearsed and we see the same stuff at every event. In the social media pics we get just a tad closer. By closer I'm not speaking of physical proximity, but closer to the real person under the gowns and under the physical exterior. What I'm speaking of is nearly impossible to quantify, but is something that often intrigues me more than t&a on display. The content is much more potent as a companion to the other gradients.

That's all well and good, but this forum has been in existence for less than 72 hours. Don't you think it's a bit premature to start predicting the demise of the forum?

  18. Every bit as much as it is to anticipate it's success. I still believe that cohesion's the thing. The content is most potent when it co-exists with the rest, regardless of the view counts and thanks. Granted I'm venturing into an argument that's more visceral, but it is what it is.

ok, let's take your argument to it's ultimate conclusion and put all the Celebrity stuff
    - pics/vids/creative/discussion - into a one-stop forum called The Celebrity Forum

ie no more complaining/arguing about what-goes-where

    end of ;)

  20. No. I'm simply proposing things be left as they were with like content or gradients as I referred to it, remaining together. Creative work made by users including screen caps is categorically dissimilar enough from photographs of celebs that it should rightfully be placed in a separate section.
