  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

I'm absolutely horrified of these things. They don't even sting or something, they're these long-legged flying things that make an annoying humming sound as they fly along the walls and ceiling. But they terrify me!!!

Some, but not so much in the city however.
If it's what I think it is, what you described is actually a mosquito killer.
    Sweet dreams!

I had one in the house the other day. They're pretty clumsy but otherwise harmless. I managed to get him outside and onto his quest to kill those little stinging bastards.

Before it got hot here, I would have the back door open for ventilation and to let the dogs go and come as they pleased. The result was many of these flying thingies coming into the house.....I mean dozens.

I don't doubt it. One aspect of the desert I've always appreciated is the lack of flying insects. Unless you live near water (and I don't mean swimming pools - unless they've gone sour) you just don't see many flies or skeeters or what have you. Mothes in late spring are about the most prevalent and then they're gone.
