I just stopped into a minimart and got a beer and then spent a couple minutes saying hello to a homeless guy who really appreciated the fact that I would take the time to acknowledge his existence.

So I'm akin to a lab rat ay? Is that what you're saying? :x

I actually talk to bums once in awhile (since there are so many of them in SF). It kinda freaks out of out-of-town friends, especially ones overseas.

Well, it's only the 4th inning, but it's pretty much a Giants loss - they're trailing 7-1 and Zito is still pitching

I sit and drink with homeless guys occasionally. I know quite a few actually from my travels up and down the strip. Some are real characters and quite engaging to chat with.

Just now stopped into the Hard Rock book.

 

That was a quick reaction shot. My attention was divided between several others when I noticed her passing just below.sometimes those are the best.

One of the best stories in regards to the homeless is back in college during my frat days.

When I was frat pledge, there was this one persistent homeless guy we used to call "Hot Dawg"... he would lurk around our house during house parties and when they ended, he would take whatever leftover food and liquor we had. Well, after the 6th or 7th time he did this, one of our members - Ron - sat down with him and talked to him for a couple of hours. At the end of the chat, Ron gave him some food, some money and no alcohol - turns out, he wanted him to go with him to the local YMCA in the morning to straighten out his life.
After that night, "Hot Dawg" would still come around, just to tell us about his progress and maybe bum some leftover food once in awhile. It wasn't until I came back for a reunion a few years later did I hear about the full success - Andrew "Hot Dawg" Jackson had found steady work, was completely alcohol free and was working with the local YMCA in helping other homeless people become self-suffcient.

Goes to show how far a small act of kindness can go a long way. :thumbs:

 

:33: You know I have just read the last three pages and by watching CSI that although the homeless bum is allways suspected but is never the real murderer....I wonder why that is
