    Redux

    I decided to give Drew another shot because the first one made it look like she is wearing a dirty, stinkin t-shirt. (Not good!)

    That happened because I used Brightness/Contrast before going to Levels. In the second one, I inverted the process by using Levels before Brightness/Contrast. But I adjusted the Exposure after that and the shirt looks a lot better.

    I tried (and try) all the Emma pics when I see them Herb, but these are still a no-go. Between the textured fabric and mottled print, there's really nothing to get. I think they make them like that on purpose to thwart our efforts! :( Nothing on the bottom either - the sweater is in the way on most of the shots and the few that it isn't it's just not light enough - black clothing requires A LOT of light to hope to pull anything off of it.

    The same images just blown up a bit won't help - increasing size doesn't increase image quality, and please always list the celeb's name when making a request or posting pics.

    Exactly. Sometimes I think people convince themselves that "X-Rays" as the term is applied here actually mean X-Rays like at the hospital.

    As far as the "contrast/levels vs Burn" argument goes, I guess if, as one poster stated, it is used over a broad area, it's no less acceptable than the standard methods, but I don't think the argument has ever been about the overall effectiveness of Burn, but how it's used. Most times I see it, it's used to paint nipples on leather jackets. Yes, I have seen it used more subtly, to enhance nipples that are already visible, but that's the exception rather than the rule, and even then I feel like it's cartooning something I don't want cartooned.

    my recollection, and I've been here since there were 2 or 3 total posts a week (I forgot my original pass), the starter of this thread (and there is no trace of him here now, but he was a tartar for principle) emphasised that you already had to see the interesting bits, if you couldn't, you had to fake. He had his own blog but shut it down because too many people wanted fakes.
    Can anyone recall his nick?
