    Got a call from a friend last night telling me this guy was playing for free in the Book and Stage lounge at the Cosmopolitan on the Strip...



    Man, I've paid money to see Robert Randolph and I'd gladly do it again. Fortunately he's playing again to night so I don't have to. Righteous! :banana:

    I miss my Dadak, which is Grandfather in Inuinnaqtun.

    Funerals are different up North. we do not buy coffins and bring them up. they are made when they have to be made. lost our Dadak in Fall so the ground was frozen. a bunch of Family Members helped dig the grave. had to use a pile driver to dig down.

    my Uncles and a lot of Cousins helped build the Coffin. we asked our Aunts what they wanted on it. they wanted a lot of hearts put on it, we did. my Cousins helped build the Cross. my Uncle engraved it. took a few days but we finished, it was very emotional when we were done.

    I was one of the Pallbearers. after the service we all helped bury him.

    That sounds sooo beautiful Inuk.... so real. Unlike the process here...that is so mechanical. I am sorry for your loss.

    My grandfather is quite old, and ill...and so strong he never asks for anything..I just try to randomly do things...like make tea or food and he might not want it...but I feel better having offered. He is soooo strong...totally military man....will never ever show that he is suffereing...its crazy..and sooo respectable..but hard on the heart..since I can never know how to comfort him.

    this was years ago but still, good memories there Classyv of my Grandfather when he was with us.
