Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

First get one or two pics you want to use.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Resize the pics in photoshop. Resize them to 160 high.

Get a vid (from youtube) you want to use, i did it with DownloadHelper in FireFox. I went for a HD-vid but can be done with normal vid as well.

    Turn on "animation" in Photshop.

    Import the vid in Photoshop.

Select the vid you want to use, then the frames.

Make sure you don't have to many frames, somewhere around 80 frames. You may need to delete some frames later if sig would be over 1,5 MB

Resize the gif part to 140 high. Select all frames and copy them.

Paste the frames in the non moving part.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Select all layers of the gif for moving it to the right place.

After the move you need to turn on the non moving for every frame.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Then create a new layer for the borders, make sure every frame is selected. For the border of the gif part it's best to turn off the non moving part.

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

You can add a text on it.

Then save it for web and devices.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Then upload it to an allowed host

can you apply effects as a group?

also, can we use dreamweaver to do all this as an animation over a simple picture background and embed it?
    something like,
create new object > frame 550x160 > background image> layer > embed video object > layer >border > save as embedded object group and use it as a sig?

may be a bit far afield from your tut, but it seems very similar to how web page header fields are done if partially animated.

I like it, dont use photoshop myself but i think i can adapt it to GAP. Thanks Cold

for instance the border you put around the clip frames. if you group those layers will it allow you to frame them all at once?

If you make a new layer after you put the vid on it's place the border will effect all frames
