I guess I haven't....but still most of the flavours don't appeal to me.

 

Oh, I'll bet. There was a mex bakery I used to go to all the time when I lived in Port Hueneme, Ca. that was just the fuckin' bomb. Haven't found the likes of it since I left there. Lots of really good Mexican joints in Vegas but nothing like that place.

 

Yep..........I had a few favorites in Sacramento that were awesome......When I lived out there I was always craving a good Coney dog.........Unheard of out west.....

 

No Del Taco in Mich?

You can get Coney dogs at Nathan's, which are all over the place out here now.

 

I love some crab legs or lobster!

 

Nathan's doesn't even come close to most of the Coney joints here........

 

I like both those too but I prefer grilled sea bass, mahi, thresher shark, roughy or my absolute favorite halibut.

 

I used to frequent the Friday seafood buffet when I lived in Tahoe..........

 

I don't care for Nathan's, I think they're highly overrated. Fortunately, alot of Chicagoans have made Vegas their home and have brought the taste of Chicago with them, homtown ingredients and all. There's a bunch of places that serve Chicago style hotdogs, Italian sandwiches, pizza etc.

 

Fresh seafood is the second reason I miss living along the coast. First is the ocean itself and the relaxing influence it has on me.

 

How about BBQ..................this place was the best............I would die for a BBQ tri tip sandwich about now........

I grew up in a little town at the Baltic Sea shore. My father used to buy the fish fresh from the fisher boat when they came in early in the morning.

 

He would put them in the kitchen sink where they would still jerk around and I'd go and turn the faucets on because I wanted to save them.

 

Not tried much of it....only canned stuff.

 

Aren't those endangered?

 

Halibut is my favorite, too. And fried herring with onions and bacon....

 

That's cool...........I would kill for a MacQue's tri tip sandwich rite now....If you mention Tri tip to a butcher or anyone else here........you get a blank stare.....
