I work for a small company which is offering social services. My department cares for mentally ill women.

im currently unemployed so i can spend all my time here. Well not really im in a workarrangement as the swedish government calls it. I have coaches appointed in order too help me find a job.

as the young man i am 28 i have picked up a little of this a little of that. I feel more at home in an officeenvironment than in industrial surroundings. I like the nature so a future as a ranger is not entirely unthinkable.

 

It's a way to integrate persons with both physical and mental disabilities into society without shutting them off or making them work at special workshops or make them live in institutions, which is sadly still done here to a certain degree. If I'm not mistaken (sorry, Flippy).

 

we simply call that "no one left behind"-policy here.

Germany is still struggling with that, although our welfare system is pretty good.

The biggest obstacle is the stereotypes and prejudices that most "healthy" people still hold on to.

And yes, I'm actually watching the show for more than just her.

But... mostly for her.

 

Sounds similar to the Americans with Disabilities Act which makes it federal offense to discriminate against people with mental or physical disabilities. It's a hugely comprehensive law that applies to just about any situation one can imagine.
