in california, a pistol grip with a detachable magazine is illegal, but as long as removing the magazine requires a tool it is considered attached, so the make a thing called a bullet button that replaces the old mag release that you use the tip of a bullet to work(a bullet is considered a tool)

the one i have though has a screw in it that if loosened makes it work like a normal mag release, which is legal as long as i dont loosen it in california

kinda hard to explain without you being able to see it, but thats pretty much it

I have six 30 rnd mags and a 40 rnd mag for my AK, and my Beretta has two 15 rnd clips

 

its also legal to have a detachable mag if you buy a stock with no pistol grip, somehow the grip makes it so deadly you have to use a fixed magazine

Yeah, we're one of the screwiest states when it comes to gun laws. And there's a huge stigma in San Francisco if you're a gun owner - some of my local friends consider me weird for owning guns.

 

i wont say if i have a 30 round magazine or not, just that it is legal for a company to send you all the parts to a 30 round mag as long as its disassembled and its the buyers responsibility to permanently make it a 10 rounder

thats how ive bought all my mags
