Current SVF posting policy - personal concerns

Admins/Mods & respected members of Phun,

So most of you know me through my posts, mostly from SVF and I think I've tried to be a respectable Phun member especially when it comes to posting. I don't strive be the best quality poster ever on Phun, but I like sharing what I like to think are "high quality" uploads in the best manner possible - I mean, there's so much crappy porn so why not share the best quality I enjoy, right?

We all know that since the Rapidshare shift and the allowance of new filehosts here at Phun, there's been a constant flood of technical low quality posts, reposting and just plain wack posting practices in general. That was going to happen and I think the mods at Phun have done a decent job of stemming most of that problem with some newer rules. But unfortunately even those rules are getting bent and bypassed with what I think are the two most aggravating problems in SVF right now:

1) Multiple accounts: It's fairly obvious that many of the new uploaders that have started posting regularly since July of this year (e.g. the Rapidshare shift) are using multiple accounts to bypass the recent 15 thread per day rule. I wish I had a solid solution, but I think admins/mods are being too generous in their judgments. I know the mods all want to be fair and have solid proof before taking action - but this isn't a court of law where we have to worry about proof beyond a reasonable doubt... If there's strong suspicion, ban their ass! It's starting to get really annoying in both the mass posting of threads on multiple accounts and multiple account abusers "bump replying".

2) The 3-day mirror rule: I originally thought this rule might do some good as it would probably make the life of a mod a bit easier in taking care of reposts. But it also encourages super quick uploading with little regard to quality and usually on a single filehost that may or may not be easily accessible to most Phun members. Yes, part of why I'm complaining is that I'm also looking out for my own posting activities. But I also feel that posting stuff on SVF has now become a speed competition for cash without giving much attention to posting thread quality. If that's how it's going to be that really sucks; i feel most of these uploaders don't even watch the scenes they upload to get an idea of what their about.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I feel it's no longer about posting a quality thread nowadays - with the greed of much of the uploaders on SVF, if they can get an upload as fast as they can, they'll have 3 days of "exclusivity" of their posts, which hypothetically to them means more cash... i guess.

Furthermore, I'll be honest and say that I feel that my posts and posting style seem to be appreciated more by most of the Phun members here and I want to continue with my way of "quality posting". I feel that I won't be able to do that if the current SVF posting rules are abused and used by these cash posting wankers.

If it sounds like I'm whining and complaining on a personal basis - damn straight I am - but that doesn't mean I'm wrong. I post here at Phun cuz I enjoy sharing great quality porn scenes with other members and genuinely like to talk to members about hot adult performers. Now, I just feel like SVF is being dominated by too many damn cash whores whose only intention is post any and all new porn scene releases quickly without little care or knowledge of what they're posting. I really feel that this isn't the direction of what SVF should be about here at Phun.

I don't know if there's a black and white solution, but I really would like something to be done. Thanks

might need to sort things out for a more qualified commment later, but for now:

as much as i see and understand your concerns: quitting doesn`t make things better.

• how much could a manatory template how to create a SFV-thread add to quality?
  
• what can be done to improve things without adding further work for the mods?
  
• should we go back to "no cash hosts"?

Don't misunderstand - I don't intend to quit. I just got particularly frustrated today and got to point where I needed to vent it out as constructively as possible. So, my intention isn't just to give up - at least not until I simply can't keep up with all these turbo uploaders nowadays.

That would be nice, but realistically probably won't happen... it's hard enough to get all the users to search before posting already, having them follow some sort of template might be asking too much.

Heh, anything to improve Phun dramatically will add to the mod workload. Maybe the easiest thing could be to divide the Sexy Video section somehow... whether by content, file size, resolution or what not.

I don't know if any really exist that are quality enough to satisfy uploader and downloader demands/concerns.

Thanks again for replying River... again, I'm not expecting wholesale changes from my rant. Just wanted to voice my frustration and open it up to the mods and other Phun members to see if they felt similarly with the lofty goal of figuring out solutions.

i don't go in porn section but the "Celebrity Movie Forum" is a giant mess now... people can repost (rehost) the videos of the cappers to make money and it's ok for the mods/admins...

 

mokk.....your concerns don't fall on deaf ears my friend. Allow me to stick my dick out, and say that I'd be the first one to offload the cash hosts if I was able to do so. On the other hand, you need to please take a look at things from our (red) side of the fence. We try to accommodate, and make this place as post friendly as we possibly can for you guys. While doing so (as you know) we receive complaints no matter which hosts are allowed, and which hosts are verboten. We're in a lose, lose situation. People bitched that they wanted Filesonic, and Hotfile before we added them to the roster, and they bitch now that we've added them. Making everyone happy doesn't appear to be feasible. We know that there's issues with the hosts, and the douche bags that use/abuse them for personal gain. We all can't have it both ways. We either allow the hosts and attempt to quell a revolt through post deletion on our part, and with the input from you guys (which is much appreciated), or we go all Fascist, limit the hosts, and the posting potential for the board. In the end, the latter only serves to hurt all of us, and phun as a whole. Without traffic, and posts this place ceases to exist my friend.

Bear with us mokk. We all have the best interests of the board in mind (regs, and reds) and we will get things squared away.

Deep.....you, and I have had this discussion on more than one occasion. I haven't received a PM from you in quite some time, and methinks I told you from the outset that if you saw your work being reposted here, to let me know, and it would be trashed on the quick. I've always held true to my word with you, and I'll continue to do so. I'm not a fucking mind reader, nor am I sitting on your shoulder when you create your goods. If your stuff gets reposted here......let me/us know and the the post/poster will be dealt with.

 

Mokkori, fwiw, when i come here to download, i usually just check my subscribed threads and then search for threads YOU have started since my last visit.

so yeah, i see the same flood of crap you've seen since the RS demise. but i've also found an effective way to avoid it.

 

banning cash hosts is not the solution to the problems.
what this forum needs is better organisation.
planetsuzy has a very well-organised and effective system in place, and as a result their popularity increased.

it's not plagarism to adopt their system. may i again suggest megathreads for individual pornstars, and a section just for megathreads since they are pushing all the single post topics down way too fast.

 

The only reason I stumbled on this thread is because I was looking solely at threads started by mokkoriman... if that's not a testament to the quality of his posts I dunno what is! I agree with all of you, ya just can't please em all

 

I hope you don't leave Mokkori. The first thing I do when checking out SVP is to see what threads you have started since I've last been on.

 

<sigh>... let me make this clear - I HAVE NO PLANS TO STOP CONTRIBUTING TO PHUN! My point in this thread was just to constructively release some frustration over the recent plague of posting problems in SVF that I find extremely annoying. There might not be anyway to solve the issues I've typed about and if that's the case, I'll adjust and move on.

I'll agree that PSZ has got a nice organized format though I don't think their popularity has increased just because of their organized - it's more likely just more posters trying to get their cut in download cents.

One thing I DON'T LIKE about PSZ is that it's devoid of any personality when it comes to posting - it feels like PSZ discourages lively discussions in any place but their General Forums and even then, it's kind of barren. Part of this is because they want to keep the upload section clean and purely about uploads - I like that in the Phun SVF section, you can comment about a good post or a hot performer without an aggro admin deleting your post and PM'ing to tell you "to keep any replies without uploads to yourself."

Overall, PSZ has nice organization but little personality IMO.
