    When someone says such and such "ain't worth a hill of beans," how much is this rhetorical hill of beans alledgedly worth? And what size of hill are we talking about? And what type of beans? It seems to me that either of those two variables taken individually would have a significant influence on the "worth [current market value per unit for legume variety]" or the purported "hill [volume/quantity]." It seems to me that without this knowledge (taking into consideration that both the quantity and value of the beans is unknown), the incomplete nature of this axiomatic* phrase renders it meaningless, which is to say that "ain't worth a hill of beans" ain't worth squat [where squat = [​IMG]].
