    Do you guys know how to add codecs to GOM player? My codecs files get downloaded as GOM player files.

    me neither I use media player classic myself it plays pretty much everything bar real videos and quicktime
    Its a free download and has updateable codecs

    Same with GOm and VLC really.....but I'm just comfortable with GOM.

    some codecs you can right click and select install, some you can double click and others can be dragged and dropped into a codec folder under the application folder.

    the interwebs is your friend just typed in add codecs gom player and coame up with a bunch of results ;)

    Well you could always do it the furball way ....just keep clicking on things un til it works ...or bursts into flames...either way problem solved :p

    I think the main problem is that the codecs are being downloaded as GOM player files (i.e. videos) so when I try to open them I just get a "cannot read file" error.

    Tried that already.. apparently I'm the only idiot who set codecs files to be recognized as videos. :(

    Have it already.....but I want to make it work on GOM......why....no real reason. :p

    So in other words you have to disassociate the files from the video files thjat you have. So try right clicking on a known video file and click on open as and choose select program and say click Windows media player and tick the box to say always use this answer. From there you should have just the codec files right click again but use the internet to find a way of opening the files this should hopefully correct the problem.....or set your compter on fire :p
