Apparently it's not illegal in the USA if their parents sign off on it and it's in a mainstream film.

It goes back to the old "What is pornographic?" argument. If the film was made simply to arouse, then it would be illegal.

Yeah, she was 15 or 16. Brooke Shields was only 12 when she was nude in Pretty Baby. Americans are generally very confused about their own laws regarding child pornography. Nudity is not the same thing as pornography, at all. That's why you can buy books by photographers such as Jack Sturged or David Hamilton featuring girls like 8-17 years old completely nude off the shelf at your local bookstore. Ditto for all the nudist websites operating out of the US in full compliance of the law.

It has nothing to do with whether the film is mainstream or not.

American law on child porn is fairly clear - it's used by many to intimidate.

With parental permission, or with a judge's decree (if the minor is emancipated) anyone under 18 can appear nude in movies or print or in photographs. It becomes illegal if the minor engages in a sexual act or if the focus is on the genitals.

This is where Mr/Ms Hilton (whatever he wants to be addressed as) came close to getting into trouble. He posted that picture with text hinting that she wasn't wearing panties which made her genitals the focus of the picture. (Also there was no consent parental or otherwise). This is why he quickly posted another picture that "clearly" showed she was in fact wearing panties.

I do enjoy seeing the vicious attacks against Perez on his website, taunting him about what will happen in prison.
