Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that took the time to check out this song of mine, some of you have had some really nice messages about it and I really appreciate it. Music is something that I hold near and dear and it's just cool to hear some feedback, that's why I love Phun, the people are so awesome around here!

Here's hoping the ideas won't stop here and I can keep these "new song" threads a relatively common mainstay here in the CB!

Sorry for the late reply, been pretty busy with work shit.

I liked it GB, it's got a cool atmosphere. It reminded me a bit of stuff I used to do. Getting really high and attempting to make music that sounded like Brian Eno possessed by the devil. :)

I liked the delay effects, and despite the small amount of notes you did a good job of changing it enough to avoid repetition.

Constructive criticism wise I don't have much to say. I'm not sure if you intended this but I found the cymbal a touch obtrusive. Because it's panned hard left it's quite prominent and could possibly be turned down a little. The guitar was slightly muddy in my monitors but I actually think it suits the style of the piece. No offence but it's not the greatest organ sound. Presuming it's Garage Band you're using you may be able to improve that slightly with a bit of eq to boost the low frequencies and some subtle reverb. I'd recommend a virtual instrument called Native Instruments B4 II. It's a very good Hammond simulator, easily downloaded and Mac compatible. Other than that the overall sound quality was good. keep up the good work mate.

Thanks man, I appreciate the advice. It's funny that you could spot the Garageband instruments right away, you were right, and I know they sound like shit but right now I just don't have any other alternative. The cymbals didn't really get tweaked EQ wise, and the organ just had a little reverb added. And the reason the guitar is so muddy is that I had to lower most of the high frequencies on the graphic EQ in order to cut down on distortion, I had my amp FAR too loud, but since this was a 1 take deal I wasn't about to rerecord anything. I guess it's more of a 'demo' than anything, but it's the kind of jam that I couldn't duplicate if I tried. It's just something you make up as you go along, and I liked the result.

Hopefully my next ideas will me a little more though out, but somehow I doubt it! ;)

Truth is a lot of the preset sounds on Garage Band type software aren't great. I have Logic Pro which is frigging expensive but still doesn't have a good organ synth. It's a tough instrument to recreate. Strings always sound shit too. It was a cool piece though mate.
