  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

I'm getting "Your PC May Be Infected" warnings after viewing images. I'm not sure if it's coming from a hosting site or a link in someone's sig, but it's there. I'm pretty sure it's not coming from Phun.

Ur right, its not coming from phun.

Many pichosters got some nasty pop-ups and adds on their site. Im blocking everything, so i'm secure.
I just can recommend you to use Firefox and install Adblock Plus.

Got them both and it's getting by.

It just happened here: http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=486362 with images hosted at ImageHaven and Imghost. The popup opened after downloading from ImageHaven and before Imghost.

Most likly its a cookie (small prog running in the back ground) you picked up from someplace
clear out your temp internet files and that should sort it.

for you comfert ill say ive been on phun for a long long time, ive never gotten any sort of anything from anyfiles at all, the mods are great at cleaning this place constantly, so brows here and be safe.

    hope this helps

also if you install firefox and run script blocker, you can venture the interwebs far more securely and know that your kit will work in the future

From Imagehost.org, I never had problems. With Imagehaven, yes. Imagebam, I don't think so.

But I ask you to not go on Skins.be because their pop-ups have became dangerous.

Thank you. I already run those tools, but it took a little digging to get ccCleaner to cough up the Firefox cookies. Flushed 'em and we'll see what happens.

Gone are the days when Firefox stored cookies in a directory, not a database.

I never get a pop-up, i'm running a program called "Ad Muncher", i use it because it also works in IE. If you use an add-on in FireFox but need to use IE instead you will get pop-ups, because i use "Ad Muncher" i don't got that.

If any of you FF users are having issues, there's a magnificent little add-on called NoScript. Only the scripts you allow will get through, and with each page you load, if there's any phunny business going on, you'll be made aware of it without it actually loading. Works like a charm. ;)
