Phun's identitys are being stolen!

another member here asked me about a post of mine on another site, but i had no idea what he was talking about..

and after further review, i found that the people at this site are stealing Phun's users names, sigs, and avs to pose as their own..

along with posting some of our members work..

some of the members i have seen so far are on this page.. posers

the guy posing as me even puts "I'll make ya famous" under his name..

can this potentially be harmful? i know i don't like it..


if some of these people are actually 'real' phun members i apologize, but i know i never joined there..

 

We, the Mods, are aware of it. Can't say much can be done about it.

I have checked out paparazzi though, and find it very funny how this douche bag is stealing everything, word for word and posting it on his site. What I also find funny is that every time I have visited, I have been the only one online. 0 Members and 1 Guest.

 

as long as it's not harmful to Phun it doesn't bother me, as much..

i'm having fun filling their chat box with nasty messages..

i signed up as 'the REAL dirtycash' just so i could..

 

I hope their severs can handle the membership increase

I can understand why these fools would still pics and other content, but others sigs and identities? Seems pointless and more effort than it is worth.

Re banning IP's, I imagine that they may not have a static ip and would be more trouble to mods than reward!

 

The problem is finding the user who is stealing the content, regardless of their IP situation, it's a needle in a hay stack.

 

We could send someone in under cover, maybe offer to mod the site and gather intel from there? It would be an exciting mission

 

They are asking for a mod with v bulletin experience to mod their site.

play safe, guys. as annoying this is (probably the lamest "theft" i´ve seen lately) - what we don´t need is a "war" (could lead to mass-flooding phun and worse).

 

That site doesn't seem to be a big problem as no one is on it!

But I don't know why you lot don't sign up to the bigger sites that steal your pics and post them yourselves. It'll fuck the thieves up.

 

I'm content with one forum. If someone wants to "steal" "my" content and post it somewhere else, be my guest. I get the reward of RS points so I can extend my membership.

besides, PS is a messy shit hole, and I wouldn't waste my time, energy or friendship with that lot. (Yes, I am aware that some here, belong there, but I'm only interested in what they have to say or offer here)

Anything to make it appear that your site has a lot of members and traffic. Grabbing the sigs just makes it look a little more "real".
