Hello to Leo and Blaze from Marlee..........

My recipe is from my Italian aunt........I eyeball it........as far as measurements go........as I've got it down to an art.........

1lb ground beef
1 large can diced tomatoes (better yet 6 whole fresh tomatoes diced)
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
Half a white onion
1 green pepper
1 Tablespoon salt
1 tsp sugar
2 Tablespoons oregano (Or 4 of fresh makes it better)
1 Tablespoon Italian herb mix
1 tsp garlic salt/powder
1 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf

Brown the ground beef
Do a very small dice on the onion and green pepper..........
and add in onion and green pepper until onion is translucent...........(sweat it)
add tomato's, sauce, and paste......add two cans of water from tomato paste can..........add all spices........and simmer for several hours...........2-4 hours...........It gets better the longer you simmer it.......PS add the garlic in 15 mins before serving...........and may need to add salt to taste.....

 

Yeah what is warm it is -5 here
