Thanks, Gents! Glad to see a core group of you still around and the forum seems to be thriving...

So, I went skiing for the first time ever for New Year's. I FUCKING LOVED IT!!!! Jeez. What a freaking blast. Of course I'm a total beginner, but I did alright and when down the green slopes on my first day. Although I did eat snow a couple of times. I kept wanting to go too fast, my instructor called me Speedy Gonzales, but the few times I fell it was when I was trying to go slower than felt natural. Definitely helped to have a private instructor. I will keep doing that until I have a good base skill. The second day it snowed the whole time and it was so gorgeous. What an experience. I couldn't get enough and in fact skied too long(in rented boots), I got the dreaded black toe and (now this will be sexy as hell...) my big toe was oozing blood and fluid for days. I still did my daily yoga, although I had to get creative with some of the poses.

Anyway... I know everyone has skied before, but it's a new thing for me and I was instantly addicted.

The other new thing for me is SCUBA DIVING. Recently became certified and plan to dive all over the world. Love, love, love it... an absolute unique, exciting and peaceful experience.

I'm hooked on both now. Here's to adventures in the New Year!

On a side note: Never, ever give up on yourself or your dreams. If anything my life is a testament to, it's transformation and the ability to rise up out of ashes. Stay inspired. Be happy. Believe. Thrive!

shit, neither alpine mountains nor spectacular diving-places around here. just muddy ponds... (well, snow is enough, but pretty plain...). oh well.

Have you tried Scuba Skiing? It's freakin awesome...if it was real that is. But that could work couldn't it? Ski down a good long slope, hit a jump and dive into a bod of water and bam, instant scubaing. And instant millions of course.

Seems like a solid idea I think.

woohoo a Euphoria sighting! glad to see your having fun. while the oozing black toe doesnt sound appealing, an image of Euphoria in a bikini diving makes me forget quickly. ive never done either (skiing or diving)

If you're ever heading to the southern hemisphere, or needed to be tempted to do so, don't forget New Zealand has both the best ski fields in the southern hemisphere, & the best diving as well!

Great to hear your doing well E, you should come back to Oz for some diving,it's a really good time to be doing it on the east coast atm!

 

E, you make skiing sound fun. I have never skied or had the desire to do so. Scuba on the other hand sounds awesome and I hope you get the chance to scuba all over the world.

I'm happy you started the new year off right, and hope that the trend continues.

I got certified to dive a year ago and wow what an experience. It is another world under water. I never thought sea weed was very attractive before but seeing it under water with with the sun light hitting is so much better than in a pile on the surface or on the beach. You will definatley enjoy the warm water dives with the 75 to 100 foot visibility.

Spring (meteorological start: 3/1): a rebirth of nature, emerging flowers budding, bright hues dotting the landscape,
fresh colors enlivening drab surroundings, newborn animals learning about their new world…

i see... well, enjoy it! ​

hope your absence is just a matter of lack of time and chances - as you can see you´re still pretty much inspiring. phun and phunners are still way more colorful than gray ashes, well admitting that one of phun´s most glowing spark (remember: inspiring...) is missing.
