    I have a suggestion. Wouldn't it work better if the themes were more specific as well? Like if the theme is "car", most people tend to just pick which of the two cars they like better rather than the sig as a whole. It's just an idea ;)

    I'm inclined to agree with EVE, I think it'd be a good idea to have more specific themes. For instance, as a Brit, if the theme is sports I'm likely to choose a British one, which would almost certainly lose to an American sports sig, because there are simply more American voters than British in the creative competitions.

    My themes are:

    The Wild West (anything to do with it such as films and games)

    Black & white films (doesn't matter what year, just as long as they were shot in B&W)

    I'm all for having it more specific, but at the same time we are voting on the artistic value of the sig, not whether you like what its about. that being said, I usually do hockey stuff, but for this contest if sports was the theme, then I may be more inclined to do a baseball or football sig for the same reasons you stated.

    Here's me three theme suggestions to be thrown in the hat! :)

    Native American (tepee's, chiefs, Pocahontas, etc.)

    Aztec/Egyptian (Sphinx, pyramids, etc.)

    Vikings (anything "Viking" related; raping, pillaging, exploring, fighting, etc.) ...okay maybe not raping ;)

    I totally agree that the artistic value of the sig is most important, but I've seen it before where there are two really good sigs, and one gets picked over the other because the voter prefers the subject of one over another. I'm guilty of voting like this before. I voted for a Porsche over a Nissan even though I liked both sigs.
