Sig Duel Tournament Discussion Thread

Why can't you start a new thread for each tournament, and leave this one for discussions only, like we do for the SOTW?

Got my entry done. I think the game is gonna need a few tweaks.

1. Having one of the contestants post as a poll for both players. probably always gonna be issues.
2. Giving out the names of the players in each game doesnt provide any plausible anonymity at all.

Suggestion: 1 poll for round one includes all entrants -"Top 4(or 1/2 # of entrants)" =advance > round 2, posted by Sid would fix both those issues.

Possibility? : set up the 3 themes 1 week ahead of time and run the polls/rounds all in 1 session. Something like round 1 poll posted 30 minutes to vote, yada yada, 15 minute talk time, round 2 poll posted etc. You could get the entire game done in less than 3 hours easily, closer to 2 hours. I understand the time zone issues may be a problem.

Just a couple thoughts. No matter what, game threads are going to get lost, broken or bumped, considering I doubt the mods will sticky 8 polls, + discussion, + normal stickies every couple days, and how else are you gonna keep the current poll threads organized? Anyway, I like the game concept, it's just gonna take a bit of adjusting.

But this first tourney is just a test, like you said.

 

Why?

Not a big deal. It's mainly for straggling voters. Most of un in the CB know each persons style. I'd be able to list who done what for every SOTW.

You're getting rid of this whole concept by doing that.

There are 4 polls for the first round. 2 for the second. 1 for the thrid.
They don't need to be stickied.
Each poll will last 3 days.
If a mod wouldn't mind closing the threads after the three days then that would be great, and it will only be once a month.

I'll enter the next one, spent most of yesterday fuckin reinstalling windows still haven't got photoshop installed yet.

 

I think a 2v2 collaboration would be a good idea as well, would be interesting to see how one person starts a sig and the other finishes it.

 

I'm just waiting for cylnz to come in now.

 

How do we see who is winning without voting?

Can both contestants vote on their own sig if both agree so they can see the results?
