ok you have folder lock in this thread, ive never used it becouse im cheap. didnt see this one, and its free.
this is folder access pro. its a simple free proggy that allows you to lock a given folder to unwanted eyes.
its not an encryption, so it can worked around fairly simply, but its good enough for wandering kids.
the software seems to run smooth and is simple as all feck to use. i used Cnet downloads so you can read the reviews prior to down load.

they could make decent programs but they dont, apple are just jelous that gatesy took there market share away with windows so they make these programs to deliberatly saboutage windows systems, thats why you need itunes in all is crappy pretencious user unfriendly glory for the sHit..... i mean iPod unfortunatlly stupid teenage females and pretencious hipsters don't know any better and bought it up because image is more important then smart decisions so thats why the ipod is the only large drived player you can buy.


also dvd shrink was what i used to copy my dvd's along with dvd decripter but thats failed so i use shrink to do it on the fly, however that nessecitated a second dvd burner to preform such actions

I noticed there was no free firewall posted here, and Comodo's free firewall is probably the best free firewall out there, and it does extraordinarily well when comparing to the best paid suites, surpassing the majority of them.

I do not recommend to rely solely on the free antivirus that comes included, I didn't install it. Prefer Avira, AVG or Avast.

I've used this for awhile now. I think the different optimization strategies makes this is a better choice over the defrag software that comes with windows.

File Scavenger® Version 3 is a file "undelete" and data recovery utility for Windows XP®, Windows Vista®, Windows Server 2003®, Windows 2000®, Windows NT® and Windows ME/98/95®. File Scavenger® can recover files that have been accidentally deleted (including files removed from the Recycle Bin, in a DOS window, from a network drive, from Windows Explorer with the SHIFT key held down) provided that recovery is attempted before the files are permanently overwritten by new data. File Scavenger® supports both basic and dynamic disks, NTFS compression, alternate data streams, sparse files, Unicode filenames, etc. Except in severe cases, both the file and the folder path leading to the file can be recovered.

File Scavenger® can also recover files from a reformatted or corrupted volume even when the volume has been deleted and its original position and size are unknown. File Scavenger® can scan an entire physical hard drive to look for traces of defunct volumes.

File Scavenger® uses advanced algorithms to handle disks with bad sectors and badly corrupted partitions. It can be installed on a hard drive or run from a portable storage device such as a memory stick, removable drive, CD or floppy disk. To run File Scavenger®, you must log on as a system administrator to the computer where data recovery is intended.

Files can only be restored if the disk areas allocated to the files have not been overwritten by new data. All recovered files should be validated for the integrity of the recovered data.

The only problem with that recover programme is that it is limited in terms of the size of file it will recover. 100k or something.
