Oh ok. I wasn't quite sure what you were up to these day. Are you looking forward to all the hard work and long hours if and when the barges arrive?

 

oh hell yeah I'm looking forward to it! hell of a fun time of year.

small percentage of blowing the fuck up but hey, comes with the job. I remember we were on the barge last year and we were going to dip the gasoline barge to see how much fuel was in there. this was my first week on the job so I had no idea of the procedures, it was like 2 in the morning. the technician with me opened up the cam locks on the cap, and WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH the cam lock went flying 40 feet into the air. all he said in his french accent "oooh ya da vapoor, forget to releez vapoor from the gas"

as I told him after I nearly shit my pants and requested "don't forget that fucking vapor again there ya fucker"

 

those Ships are cool too. the Galley and the Grunts sleep on the first floor. the Captain, First Mate, Engineer and Customers sleep on the middle section and the Bridge is up on the 3rd section. fun boats.

Cool. I like ships. I read in the paper yesterday about freighter ships that offer cruises. You can book travel from 1 week all the way up to 5 months, depending on how many ports of call a ship is scheduled to make. You hang out and eat with the crew and get to see the world from their perspective.
