im gonna go to LA with a friend of mine, he has a cousin down there who live on Venice beach, he went down there a few months ago and played on the court from white men cant jump, said its pretty sweet

She is well loved and has a good life now....She is really sweet, but desperately needs training......not my job though.

My previous shepherds were well trained and extremely obedient. They were happier for it as I could take them places and do things with them that one could not with poorly trained dogs.....

 

The games are physical, but you never see fights. These guys know what they're doing. That LA trip sounds fun.

I was a "victim of my neighborhood" as a kid -- it was all football and hockey - - hardly anybody played hoops. Probably better for me, because I only broke about 4 fingers playing football. I figure 6 or 7 breaks if I played basketball.

 

Later supe - I will need to break shortly for food also as I have only drank coffee so far today.....

 

Think I will check and see what sports are on the tube tonight.....

 

Looks like preseason NFL at 8 on NBC, Buffalo and Tennessee....

Training is always possible, even for rescue dogs. I hope your son has started training her. One reason I chose border collies is because of their intelligence and trainability. Training takes patience with most breeds. I use key words and phrases with my dogs that I normally would not say in normal conversation. That gets the dogs' attention and they know I'm directing my words toward them.

Trainability and intellegence is one reason I am a German Shepperd lover. I had no trouble training my dogs. 95% positive reinforcement. Never hit them. No rolled up newspapers. My approval displayed for more than enough for them.

It is hard to believe that it has been 25.5 years since I say goodbye to my best buddy ever, Thore......that was his name. I still greatly miss him. Paid $10 for him and would pay $10,000 to have him yet again.......

I don't follow NFL or any other pro sport except motor racing.

I have been to one NFL game in my life and guess what, it was the Lions VS Tampa Bay in fall of 1976 in Tampa. The Lions won!

Pretty much. I seem to remember Tampa Bay had a running back, Ricky Bell? that was pretty good. Broke a long run for TB only TD. I also seem to recall that Ricky Bell later had a medical problem and died young, like in his twenties...

 

I remember Bell, but not his specific years w/TB or that he died.
