    HELP!!!

Like most of you, my day usually starts at phun.org. For some unknown reason when I go to phun.org, all I get are those red "x"s where the images should be.

I don't know why this is happening. I thought I did something on my machine, but I tried it on my wife's machine and I got the same red "x" nonsense there too.

Does anyone know if this is a setting on my machine (that I know I didn't set, but maybe got set automatically)? I don't think it is since my wife's machine has the same issue.

Can my ISP (TWC RoadRunner in NC) be blocking the site? The forum site seems fine however.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated...I am having phun.org withdrawl symptoms and it ain't pretty.

    Thank you all!!!

Thanks for the reply...I did check that setting, and I had images on.

I should just clarify that this problem is at www.phun.org, and not the forums (which seem to be fine, thank goodness :)).

Anything else I could check? I did upgrade to IE8 hoping it would solve the issue, but it didn't.

    okay.

so check your browser-settings (no IE here, so just guessing). maybe you´ve accidentially blocked images from phun.org.
or do you have some sort of ad-blocker running? maybe phun.org is on the list of sites to block?

i doubt it´s your ISP - they can block sites, but why just phun.org?

Grrrrr. I don't think it is a setting on my machine specifically, because my wifes machine exhibits the same thing.

I hate to switch browsers (although phun.org i worth it). I'd like to figure out the problem. Just one day it stopped working...weird.

Looked, looked and looked again...didn't see anything.

Give me another phun.org equivalent site to link to...I'll bet that one will work. I tried to see if phun.org is listed specifically in some setting somewhere (how it would get there I don't know)...but couldn't find anything.

Running a virus scan now, just in case. Might have to take a day of work to figure this out :)

I highly doubt it is your browser or a virus simply because it happened on 2 different computers. It could be that your ISP has blocked part of phun. Have you tried using another computer that is not associated with your ISP?

try using the ip address for phun instead of the usual name. see if that works.
Also, dont forget the usual clearing out of cookies etc.

Many thanks to all that have replied. I have tried almost all the suggestions to no avail.

How do I know what the phun.org IP address is? I'd like to try using that directly.

If that fails I'll try another browser. What is small and simple to install, FF or Opera?

I don't have access to a computer outside my ISP at the moment, so I can't try that. Might have to take my laptop to a coffee shop with Wi-Fi to test (a good coffee and some time making up for lost days on phun.org...sounds like a good idea :)).

If this all fails I'll contact my ISP. It is hard to imaging they would block this site when there are 100's just like it. Plus it is Time Warner Cable (Road Runner)...and I did't think they blocked anything.

Thanks again for all those that took the time to reply...it is greatly appreciated (but I'm still open to more suggestions).

If you haven't cleared out your cookies/cache yet, and wish to see if the problem is being generated solely on your IP address, go to vtunnel.com, netevader.net, or mathtunnel.com, one of those proxy-generating diversion site, enter "http://phun.org" into the address field and see what pops up.

If no images appear at all, it is most likely a problem with your browser that you may have inadvertently tweaked.

I figured it out (by dumb luck).

I disabled my firewall, and it refreshed phun.org, and it displayed okay.

So this means that something in my firewall settings was blocking the images for phun.org, which I certainly didn't set on my own.

I am using CA Security Centre (free from TWC) and I went through the settings and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I'll look again, but for now I'll disable my firewall for a few minutes just so I can view phun.org.

THANKS to all those that helped me today.

    Peace.
