I am taking the pills, metformin, and I am still learning how my body is currently dealing with various types of food, eating schedule, quantities a meals, etc. I think I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do now. Basically, I am keeping the sugar counts between 80 and 120 with the exception of two hours after a meal, when it gets up to around 140. in order to maintain this, I must eat low carb meals and very small (for me) portions. Thus the 3 pounds per week of weight loss.

I hate being fat soooo much, that I just cannot see me putting the weight back on once I loose it.

You also have to take in to account how much physical work you've done that day - which i'm sure you already know. I think that was the biggest reason he couldn't ever get it regulated.

LOL - my dad doesn't like the fact that he's gained the weight. He's not a big man to begin with - a little less than 6' and weighed around 180-185 for about as long as I can remember - he's up to about 200 now. Still not fat by no means but just not as fit looking as he always used to be.

I am 5' 8". I have been in the 280's before. I have a huge belly! I am in the low 250's now. My goal is 160. I was a distance runner in high school weighing 137, on the U of F gymnastic team in College weighing 155. The 160's is a good weight for me now. I WILL get there!

Currently, I am really to heavy to do much exercise now. I have horrible big toe nail problems (they are actually "J" shaped on the outer sides) that are painful for me to do much of any walking or even standing for any length of time. I plan on seeing a podiatrist within the next few weeks to see what can be done to correct this. I anticipate toe nail removal in the hopes that they grow back normal. I think having that damn toe nail fungus from years ago is the cause. I anticipate starting an exercise program once I get the weight below 225 as now, my ankles, knees and back cannot take the stress.

 

Well, the rains have cleared out now, so I must hit the road to take care of some business. Should be bck yet again later. :hi:
