ziltch. Someone traced our family tree back many generations at my mothers family reunion a few years ago and I was surprised at it. So I dug a little on my fathers side and found the same results - was interesting.

No, they do get privelidges that we don't but it's not a get a life for free card. They still have to work for a living, but very easily get grants from the gov't and such if they deem it needed. It's all because we (immagrants) took their land many many years ago.

And yes, that's true for sure. I don't know how it all works but from what i've heard from other indians that work there the cash goes to the tribe or band whatever you want to call it. From there they still have to pay the gov't a pecentage, the tribal dues (so to speak), then there's little left to shell out to the families - not nearly enough to make a living off of. They gave me the feeling it's no different than any other gov't anywhere in the world.
