The use of the lipstick for the potential name is just a brilliant idea, it would fit in so well with the original.

No problem Toolz. Nice to know one of the best sig makers here appreciates my work. I actually just redid that text to make it blend in a bit better. I think it's an improvement.

 

Thats the hard way again TCF. Use the smudge tool with a lower % rate, and then blur tool at 100%.
Not everyone knows how to use "midnight".

I appreciate your technical approach TCF, but you need to quit reading so many tutorials and figure out some shortcuts on your own.

The smudge/blur tool will only achieve a transition between the 3 background colors. However good this transition is done, the background will always show 3 colors.
Mine is an overlay layer in a single color so the background is just one color I choose (check it with your color picker if you like).
Knocking out the color range and blending takes only seconds; I can hardly believe you can smudge and blur in seconds.

The "midnight" effect has nothing to do with manipulating the background color; it was only used to enhance contrast and depth over the face/torso images so it was done after the background color was reduced to a single color.

And it's not a tutorial; it's just basic understanding of how pixel information, which contains basically information on color and brightness, works.
In all I may only have read about 10 tutorials, the rest is only exploring how digital photography (pixels) works.
So what I do is more self thought/original than meets the eye.

And until my mom says otherwise ... I'll fucking use whatever technique I like.
