PhotoShop Practice

I'm going to be using this thread to display things that I'm practicing in PhotoShop. I'm gonna be going through a few tutorials and will post my results here!
You may all do the same, if you're practicing or just wanna show off your skills. You can then tell us how you done it or what tutorial you used.

 

I started trying reflective lettering...



inu3 put me onto a couple of good tuts, but i found this one the easiest, even though it is of a phone... Tutorial For Reflective Effect

lol, i've only just learnt "perspective" transforming of images, so thistutorial really helped.

I dont use PS sid...never had...i find it too confusing with all its abilities.

also, i just wanted to display the stuff i'm learning. i was gonna use these things to create posters and stuff to put in the other thread. this also isn't rivaling the tutorial thread. i am just putting links to the tutorials i used to show where i got it from.
i can't be arsed now.

I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10

 

a great starter point for adobe photoshop is "visual quickstart guide" if they make that for PS..."Adobe Photoshop - classroom in a book"? you can find them online probably free or some cheap bookstore...

they are both easy follow throughs..

I took it in community college...as well as Adv. Photoshop...

you mostly follow the teacher who follows a tutorial book... LMAO

so yeah get a basic book and follow along...it's easy....

 

I attempt to use Photoshop CS... Haydnis correct that there is a lot to learn and it is not always the easiest to use. I got it for free and originally only used it to resize images. Then I came here... and I stumble over it all.

I am just getting ready to buy the Photoshop CS4 Web Extended version. Just found a way tht I can get it for 70% less than standard price. It has all the tools for working with images and also includes the tools to create a website and work with flash, etc.

So Sids and the other tut threads are going to be very helpful to me...

 

Love the thread idea Sid, I've been itching to learn some more in depth tools in Photoshop and this thread gave me a good starting point.

Here's my blog banner now with reflected text, I also altered the perspective of the reflection and added a slight gradient light source to the background. It's simplistic but I like it a lot better than just flat text.

 

that looks excelent, and i like the idea of the perspective shadow. i'm gonna try that on my one...

 

don't think it works too well with this, but i will be using it for something..
