Signature of the Week - Discussion thread

Not to make this anymore complicated but I don't really see a reason that we couldn't just keep it like it was week 1. There were 64 people who voted and that seems like a good amount. A week long vote seems kind of drawn out.

So it would be:
Turn this weeks sigs in by Thursday night.
Post the sigs/start vote Friday morning until Sunday Night.
Post winner/new theme Monday morning
Then start over.


and if we want to add one more day of voting turn the sigs in by Wednesday night. I don't really care it just my suggestion.

 

I'd prefer that. People will vote over the weekend like they did and then it will dry up. If we keep it open for longer all we get is a handful more wotes but an extra day to prepare would be nicer.

 

One other quick thing there should be only one word picked for people who want to add a font. Like "nickname" "signature" "@phun.org" that way we don't get clued into who's sig it is. Or is that retarded?
Obviously that would start week 3 since people have already turned theirs in for this week.

I think that the rules change this week wasn't needed and it makes that we only had barely two days in which to make the sig and now the rest of the week to vote.

Remember, the point of all this is the sigs, not the voting. The voting part is the just the bit of fun at the end of the sig making

so what are we saying? should we have the sigs in on weds instead? i do think fri to fri would be better though. people can have the weekend and a couple of weekdays to do their sig instead of just during the week. it could be better for everyone.

how many people entering this week still need to do their entry? and do you need until wednesday?

 

I need to do mine and there is only 40 minutes left. It might be too late to extend it this week though. I'll just not be in it this week(unless I can finish). I still like my idea which is to keep it like the 1st week.

 

i'm sure there'll be no problem extending it a day for you spidz.
and obviously, if you all want it to stay sun to sun, then there shouldn't be a problem witht that either. but as said, there will prob be more voters during the week. which i know isn't the be all and end all, but would be good for more people to get involved.

 

I'll be done in a little bit so if anything it'll help if it's extended about an hour.

I recon it was a big succes, so we shouldn't change it. If people rushed their sigs then they still have till thursday to send me an updated one.

About the texting... how about using the theme as the universal text on the sig? This week would require the text "Brunettes" last week would be "freestyle" etc.

Oh and I realise there has been a lot of changing the rules (submission/voting days), but I just did that to try and keep everyone happy . But I guess I should have never changed them bacause I think it went very well.

 

Text should be optional to use. I think the standard word should be "signature".....because thats what it is.

 

Find one set of rules bio. And dont let anybody try to change them, you cant please everyone.

You need to clarify a specific time as well...9pm GMT or something, also about the text are we leaving it this week my text is embedded into the sig now changing it would require a complete redo.

I hacked mine out pretty quick, because monday and Tuesday are my 2 longest days of the week. Do I have until Friday now to resubmit a cleaner version of my entry?

You know... I like to play around with text in a sig. When I make a sig with some singer in it, maybe I'd like to include some lyrics. Or at least the name of the singer.

I think as long as it's not your own nick or some hint at who you are then it's ok.

To once more clarify the mess I created with the days : Entries should be in my inbox on friday morning before 6am. (I'm in the Netherlands). It's also in the rules on the opening post of this thread.

Also: I already have more than 10 entries for this week, which means I can't have voting with a poll. There's 2 options for voting now.

1. I post all entries in my opening post for "Sig of the Week: Week #2" thread. Everyone replies with the number of the sig he likes best.
2. I make a seperate post for every sig and everyone can click thanks on the sig he likes best. Problem here is that there may be even 2 pages of sigs this way. When they're all in 1 post you can decide better which ones looks best.

What does everyone think?

 

Don't forget a lot of us are only here Monday - Friday if you want our votes, if not that's fine. I enjoy looking at the sigs and reading comments whether I get to vote or not.
