Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     I'll continue running the competition.
    And I don't think the voting has to be anonymous... so with more then 10 entries, we'll just have voting by replying. I'd like to say:

    my vote goes to number 14, great technique, great choice of image and great texting.... or something like that :).

    I voted for number 3 this week btw, it pops off the screen more than the other sigs imho, grabs your attention.

    I voted for spiderswims, entry #6.

    I just loved the color scheme, how it took from the cityscape so well, and she just fit in perfectly. It in no way looked out of place.

    Can't wait for week 2!

    I just thought I'd make a suggestion for an alternative way of running the SOTW!

    1 Obtain a number of volunteer members, sworn to secrecy.

    2 Each SOTW entrant pm's his/her entry to one of these volunteers - different one each time.

    3 The volunteers make a separate post of each of these entries into a specified thread at a specified time, making sure they don't clutter things up with their own sig (ie opt for no sig!)

    4 People "vote" for their preferred sigs by pressing the associated "Thanks" button - the number of "votes" is automatically recorded, as are the names of the voters.

    This system would get round any limitation imposed by the polling system, but voting would not be anonymous.

    I throw it open to discussion!

    I kind like the way its running just now. If we get too many then either have two polls or do what bio said.

    Why not have a thumb record of past winners in the irst post?

    good idea. just like the sig haven, if we have a thumb of the winning sigs too then the thread will last much longer. will each sig of the week be going into the hall of fame?
    and if it is public voting or whatnot, shall we designate a discussion thread for all this kind of talk to save clutter?

    I've had mine done since mid last week, I'm pretty pleased with it but I was just nervous as to whether it'd fit in with this weeks theme.

    we need clarification of what's going on. maybe have them in by tues, then voting until friday.
    then we can have a friday to friday sotw.

    that way it could be, start friday, in on tuesday, voting to friday. repeat.
