You don't understand nuance. Is that clear enough? Sometimes people speak volumes by not saying anything at all. Sometimes they say nothing after having written paragraphs. There is no conformity in communicating, to expect it is foolhardy, because it runs against the grain of human nature.

I have the feeling I could sit down with you and explain it to you for an hour and you still wouldn't get it. As such, I'm not going to spend any more time on it.

hey PM, drumming question for ya...I've always wondered, why do some drummer have up that plastic wall around them while they're playing?

 

Don't you see how your logic can lead to alot of misunderstandings? Not saying something can mean something and saying something can mean nothing. I am not asking for conformity but when an issue is as serious as say the billy situation where do you draw the line? Why isn't clarity something we should all strive for rather than just assuming what people mean when they say nothing? If you mean something say it. That is the beauty of words.

Good question! You see it on TV (talk shows, etc.). It's the microphones and whey sounds pick up. The plexiglass wall keeps the live sound of the drums from shooting straight out to the singers' microphones. The idea is to have one intended sound to be amplified by each mic.

It goes the other way, too: The drum mic's pick up only pure drum sound. Each mic is patched into a mixing board that the operator adjusts to get the sound we hear through our TV speakers. The live studio audience hears something entirely different than we do at home.

 

That makes sense, I had a feeling it was something like that.
