oh yeah no doubt pilg. love the computer anyway. took typing in high school, figured 15 easy credits. hell I can type like 60 wpm now today. sweet.

 

I am from New York city in the U.S. so my English is Fucked

 

I had a keyboard based computer from age 6 upwards. Never owned a console.

So when we got to IT class in high school, everybody else would be doing the two finger tap dance on the keyboard, and i'd be streaking along merrily. :mrgreen:

 

Admitting the problem is the first step.

 

Found a couple of screener torrents, which always raises a smile; Underworld 3 and Bolt, which actually looks pretty damn funny.

Bedding myself in for the weekend; got a shit load of films backlogged to watch.

 

One of the best things I ever did was to take typing in Jr. High School (1963) - on an old office stype Underwood manual typewriter managed over 120 CWPM. I am not that "good" now, but the ability to speed type has been a blessing and advantage all ov my life! Parents need to push this with their kids. 20 years ago I offered my kids $250 when they could get to 40 CWPM using a software tutorial I bought for them. The sorry bastards never learned and are kicking themselves today. End of the epistle. :2cent:

 

Funnily enough, i used to have a typewriter as well; it's a really good way to develop the `TGB` concept of left and right. I've tried to teach my nephew that, but they don't teach it in schools anymore.

That is interesting. Before word processors, I had an electric office typewriter in my office and did my correspondence in draft on it, triple space, then would give that to the secretary to finalize. This worked well for the times then as I could type almost as fast as I could think (open door for a snide comment ) as long as I did not have to worry about spelling, grammar, etc. Since the mid-1980's, I would simply provide the secretary with the electronic word processor file and he/she would proof and prepare that as opposed to retyping the document.

Things have come a long way, but being able to touch-type effectively is still a valuable skill no matter where you are and what you do. :2cent:

Thank you, inuk. And hello to everyone else currently on board. I am here for just s short while as I have errands to run and I am waiting for the outside temperature to get to 70 F so that I can ride my Harley without a jacket. Should leave in just a few.
