I didn't even know there was a DC version.

The one i've got is number two on my list anyway.

 

If it's called "Leon" and it is the version originally released in Europe, you probably have the "good" version. I hope it is. They released it in the U.S. theaters cut down to 1:40 hours/minutes.

I didn't even know it wasn't called Leon in America till an American i met was banging on about The Professional, and i had no clue.

It's chock full of great scenes, but my favourite, stand-alone moment, is the little old lady in the hall. She's complaining, leather jacket tells her it's fine, go inside, he steps in, she's still complaining, Oldman just raises his gun and fires a shot into the window behind her.

`He said, go back inside`, motioning with the gun.

Leather jacket comes back out and propels him back into the apartment of death.

Oldman. Awesome. :mrgreen:

 

1:40 is the magic running time for theaters; they can fit one more showing of the film per-day and rake in more $ if a film 20 minutes short of 2 hours.

 

One of many classic Oldman scenes in the film. His last line, "Shit" is a classic.

I expect the MPAA had something to say about the movie also.

 

That film cemented him globally as a character actor par excellence. And as a manic villain. The Fifth Element, Air Force One, the Batman films and The Contender make him one of my favourite actors.

 

I also liked him as Dracula. Many did not like his performance. I thought he was great.

 

I always forget about that one. Didn't like the film, so it tends to drift in my memory. :wink:

Also, he's one of those few who are double `1`'s in the Kevin Bacon game.

 

The cut scenes were the 'crime spree' ones. The scene where Nat burns down the drug house is another. The scenes of sexual tension were left in the film, which made me wonder if I was in another country for a minute. The U.S. is normally "Guns: good! Sex: bad!"

 

How is he a double-one?

 

Wow; just found out he's a triple 1; they headlined a movie called `Criminal Law` back in 1988.

No. It doesn't work for `real` people. When i used to play it, it was actors only.
