    In the year after my wife left me, I spiraled downhill in a way that most people would think is great. I spent 2-3 nights-a-week in one of Detroit's classier 8 Mile Road topless bars. Everybody there knew me by name. I got into the VIP room for free. The DJ played my band's songs. I drank so much vodka there was no more left.

    I can walk into either a church or a topless joint and make friends with anybody. People don't scare me like that. I like making friends. ... In the condition I was in after my divorce, I found comfort around beautiful, topless, friendly girls. Who wanted my money.
